Mumbai: In the latest development, Mumbai Police which is investigating the high profile Sheena Bora murder case claimed on Friday night that they have recovered the hired car in which she was strangulated to death.
“The car used to take Sheena's body to Raigad has been traced to a third-party owner,” a police officer said.
According to media reports, the car was traced to an owner in Vashi area here, whose statement would be recorded soon.
The police today claimed to have recovered a silver colour Optra car MH 01 2605, which was sold to several dealers after it was used in killing Sheena Bora.
Meanwhile, cops also said that Indrani applied lipstick and combed the hairs of Sheena's corpse so that no one could suspect foul play.
Investigators probing the alleged murder of Sheena Bora had earlier said that accused Indrani Mukerjea and and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna allegedly placed her body between them on the rear seat of the rented vehicle as they drove from Mumbai to Raigad to dump it there.

Police traced the streetside vendor from whom Indrani and Rai bought two suitcases worth Rs 5,000, one of which was used to dump Sheena's body and the other allegedly kept ready for Mikhail.
Presently, Indrani, Khanna and Rai are on extended police custody till September 5.
