Mumbai Police recovers car used in Sheena's murder; Indrani, Sanjeev, driver to be taken to crime spot in Raigad

Mumbai: As the mysterious Sheena Bora murder case is getting murkier with each passing day, Mumbai Police on Saturday, in a significant development, recovered the car in which the 25-year-old was killed, ANI quoted sources as saying.

The car was allegedly sold to a dealer at a cheap price, as per an English news channel.

The development comes amidst Mumbai Police brought the main accused in the murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, who is also mother of the victim, to the Khar Police station for interrogation.

Earlier in the day, a team of Mumbai police, probing the mysterious Sheena Bora murder, with the help of a village official in Pen tehsil of Raigad district, located the spot where Sheena was allegedly buried in 2012.

A team of police, forensic experts and villagers had yesterday exhumed skeletal remains after Dhene, a Police Patil, identified the exact spot where Sheena's body was allegedly dumped in the forests there three years ago.

The ongoing probe into the said case took a fresh turn on Friday night when the police claimed that Sanjeev Khanna, the former husband of Indrani Mukerjea, had confessed to his complicity in the crime, during a joint interrogation of the three accused.

Early next week, police intend to recreate the entire crime scene -- from a spot near the National College in Bandra's Linking Road to Raigad and back to Mumbai airport -- that took place on April 24, 2012, when Sheena was murdered, allegedly by Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai.

Indrani was arrested by Khar Police on August 25, 2015, in connection with the murder case. She was later produced before the Bandra court, which remanded her in police custody till August 31.

Her driver was also arrested on August 25 and during interrogation, he claimed that Indrani had killed her daughter Sheena and that he had helped her in disposing of the body by dumping it in the forests of Raigad District.

Sheena's mother, Indrani Mukherjee is believed to have killed her, allegedly by strangulating, with help from driver SP Rai and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna on April 24, 2012.
