Sheena Bora murder case: Indrani Mukerjea tried to kill me too, claims Mikhail

New Delhi: With the Sheena Bora murder case becoming murkier by the day, another explosive allegation has been made by Indrani Mukerjea's son Mikhail, who has claimed that his mother tried to kill him too.

Mikhail has claimed in a statement given to the police that he was present in Mumbai on the day Sheena was murdered after Indrani called him to her Worli residence and spiked his drink, according to a report in The Times of India.

However, he reportedly managed to escape when Indrani and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna left the flat to meet his sister Sheena.

Mikhail, who stays in Guwahati with his maternal grandparents, has said he was certain that Indrani murdered Sheena and he would disclose the probable reason for the murder after he gets to know the statement his mother gave to the police.

Sheena was murdered on April 24, 2012 and her body was found on May 23 that year after Indrani's driver Shyam Rai revealed the murder site to police.

Both Indrani and the driver were arrested on Tuesday on charges of killing Sheena and disposing off her body in Raigad, near Mumbai.

A court has sent Indrani to police custody till August 31.
