Mumbai: In what may assist Mumbai Police to solve Sheena Bora murder case, skeletal remains recovered from Raigad match with her photo, claimed a report on Friday.

Police sources quoted by India Today claim that the skull, cheek bones match with Sheena's photo.

Sir JJ Hospital had handed over to police the bones, nails and other evidences of Sheena which was deposited by Raigad police after her body was found three years back.

A team of police, forensic experts and villagers had exhumed skeletal remains after Police Patil Ganesh Dhene of Hetevne village identified the exact spot where Sheena's body was allegedly dumped in the forest three years back.

The team of police officials and forensic experts from Mumbai had reached Gagode Budruk village in Pen teshil of Raigad and the digging started around 6 am on August 28.

Around noon, having dug just a couple of feet into the ground, the team sighted a portion of the skeleton sticking out.

They learnt about Dhene, who was present when the body was found at the crime scene on May 23, 2012, and also when it was later buried there by the police the same day.

Dhene, who has been Police Patil since 2011, remembered that the body was buried near a mango tree in 2012, which helped in identifying the spot and leading the police team there.

Indrani Mukerjea's driver was arrested on August 25. During interrogation, he claimed that Indrani had killed Sheena and that he had helped her in disposing of the body by dumping it in the forests of Raigad district, Khar police had earlier said.
