Srinagar: Unidentified militants lobbed a
grenade towards the residence of a ruling National Conference
worker in Chadoora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district
but there was no report of any damage, official sources said
on Wednesday.
The ultras hurled the grenade towards the residence of
Abdul Khaliq Bhat at around 10.20 pm last night but it landed
on the roadside and exploded, the sources said.
They said Bhat, a former militant who joined mainstream
politics and contested the Assembly elections on Samajwadi
Party ticket in 2008, was present inside the house at the time
of the incident.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the
attack.
