Kishtwar violence: J&K Guv appeals for peace, communal harmony

In view of communal violence in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on Monday appealed to people to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state.

Srinagar: In view of communal violence in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on Monday appealed to people to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state. "Deeply disturbed and pained by the happenings in the last three days, the Governor has appealed to people from all communities to maintain communal harmony and peace in the state," a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.
The Governor also asked leaders of all political, religious and social groups and members of the civil society to join hands to reinvigorate inter-community bonds and strengthen societal harmony. The Governor had been kept in the loop by the Chief Minister about the situation in Kishtwar, the spokesman said. PTI
