Ranchi: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president Babulal Marandi on Monday attacked BJP for "plight" of the people of the state, and said his party would support a non-Congress and non-BJP government in a post-poll scenario.
"I have been pitching for a non-BJP and non-Congress alliance and will support any such formation of government after the polls," Marandi told reporters here.
"The entire country saw how I was unseated (in 2003) and how the BJP ran the government for six years throwing the state into chaos," the former Chief Minister said.
Marandi, referring to the pulling out of support by alliance partners to his then BJP-led government, said the people would see track records of every MLA, MP, chief ministers and union ministers contesting the elections.
"(JMM president) Shibu Soren, BJP`s Sunil Soren and I are contesting form Dumka. Soren was Chief Minister, Union minister, MP and won as MLA from Dumka.
"I too was CM and Union minister. Now the people will see performance and track records before casting their votes," Marandi who lost Dumka in 1991 and 1996 before winning the seat in 1998 and 1999, said.
Asked whether any non-BJP or non-Congress leader would canvas for his candidates, he said, "Nobody has approached as yet."
Marandi had earlier met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other leaders to explore the possibility of a Third Front.
