Ranchi: Chairing his first cabinet meeting along with four ministers, the new Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Sunday that development work will be free of corruption and services will be delivered in a time-bound manner.

"Developmental works will be corruption-free. It has been decided that there will be an administration with accountability, responsibility will be fixed and services will be delivered in a time-bound manner," Das said at a media briefing after chairing his first cabinet meeting.

The Jharkhand CM further said that his government would function with accountability and would ensure services to the people in a time-bound manner.

Urging the media to report in a constructive manner for the next two to four months, Das added that Jharkhand has been "infamous" in the past and required everyone's cooperation, including the media, to work in the interest of the state's development.

The CM also issued directions to get a report on the proposed Press Club so that it could be placed before the next cabinet.

The newly appointed Jharkhand government today also issued directions to strengthen law and order situation and take stern action against offenders.

"Law and order has been reviewed and directions have been issued to strengthen the law and order situation and those found indulging in crimes would be dealt with firmly," Chief Minister Raghuvar Das said.

"All the deputy commissioners (across the state) will go to block levels and review developmental schemes," he added.

A decision has been taken to fill up vacancies in government departments, he said adding, a direction to this effect was issued to provide the list of vacancies in the next meeting of the cabinet.

Das added that the Jharkhand government has decided to set up grievance redress cell in every department to activate the delivery mechanism.

"Jan shikayat nivaran kosang (people's grievance redress cell) will be set up in every department," Chief Minister Raghubar Das said at a press briefing here.

"Action taken report will be given to the complainants. As per requirement, appointments for these cells will be made on contract basis," he added.

The next cabinet meeting would be held in Dumka, the second capital of Jharkhand.

Das was heading the tenth government since the creation of the state 14 years ago which has been in the news for unstable governments.
