Techie found murdered in Bangalore

A software engineer’s body was found lying in a horrendous state, wrapped with layers of 50 metre duct tape in a Volkswagen Polo car in Bangalore.

Bangalore: A software engineer’s body was found lying in a horrendous state, wrapped with layers of 50 metre duct tape in a Volkswagen Polo car in Bangalore, reports claimed on Wednesday.

As per reports, the matter came to light on Tuesday morning when the corpse was spotted lying in a car at Brookefield, near Whitefield and the authorities were informed about it.

The man’s head was concealed in four plastic covers sealed with a duct tape twisted 20 times around his neck. The body was encased with 12 layers of duct tape at eight places below the waste. His hands and legs were also tied with it. The police took 15 minutes to remove it from the body.

The body was spotted by ragpickers as the car was parked next to a waste dump. Police was informed by 8pm. The 24- year old techie has been identified as Sreeraj S, a resident of 6th Cross AECS Layout, Brookefield.

Sreeraj originally hails from Kozikhode, Kerala.

Police is investigating the case. Police has suspected the involvement of more than one person for gain motives. Forensic experts took fingerprints on the car and body.

"Preliminary investigation pointed to the possibility of him being sedated using water laced with sleeping tablets. A bottle was found in the car`s boot. After Sreeraj was sedated, they put the plastic covers on his head and wrapped him up in layers of duct tape. He appears to have suffocated to death," a forensic officer said.

A postmortem was conducted at Bowring Hospital. His parents arrived in the city late in the night.
