Kottayam: Tragedy struck a group of college
students from Mumbai on a picnic when one of them drowned in a
river when he slipped while getting down from a boat near
Kumarakom , police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred late last night and the body of
18-year old Shabeer had been recovered, they said.
In all 40 students and four teachers of Ansumali Islamic
Cultural Technical College in Mumbai had boarded the boat for
a pleasure ride and Shabeer fell down while alighting from the
boat.
