Spinner Sulieman Benn eyeing first T20 in four years

Combative left-arm spinner is set to play his first Twenty20 International in more than four years, after being named in the West Indies 13-man squad to face Bangladesh in the one-off T20I at Warner Park Wednesday.

St. Kitts: Combative left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn is set to play his first Twenty20 International in more than four years, after being named in the West Indies 13-man squad to face Bangladesh in the one-off T20I at Warner Park on Wednesday.
Benn, 31, has not featured in the T20 Windies set-up since 2010 when South Africa toured the West Indies, reports CMC. However, he was recently recalled to the Test scene following a protracted period on the sidelines, picking up 14 wickets in three matches against the touring New Zealanders earlier this year. Benn benefits from leg-spinner Samuel Badree’s omission because of injury. Badree, a T20 specialist, has been effective up front with the new ball, taking 31 wickets in 22 appearances. Former Test and one-day captain Darren Sammy will lead the squad. Squad: Darren Sammy (captain), Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Andre Russell, Krishmar Santokie, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith.
