New Delhi: The issue of quota within quota to minorities is getting bitter by the day. Hitting back at the main Opposition for their ‘second partition’ comment the Congress party said on Wednesday that it was the BJP who were injecting the ‘poison of communalism’ in the Indian polity.

Addressing the media, Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari said that the recent comments by the BJP was a deliberate strategy on their part.

“Before blaming the Congress for appeasing the minorities, the Opposition should look at themselves. It is deplorable to bring such rhetoric back in politics,” said Tiwari categorically.

Earlier, the BJP had called the quota within quota for minorities as announced by the ruling Congress party at the center, a second attempt at partition.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, BJP’s firebrand leader Uma Bharti said, “Congress party’s decision to give 9% reservation to the minority community is a purely politically move, which has been announced in view of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.”

Bharti, who is also the BJP’s election in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, said, “Congress’ divisive policies were responsible for the partition of the country some 60 years back and the ruling party is once again trying to divide the country on the basis of religion. By playing the quota card, the party is targeting the secular structure of the country, which will prove catastrophic for peaceful co-existence of different religious communities’ here.”

“If the government wants to introduce reservation on the basis of religion, it should first declare India as a Hindu country,” she added.

"This is a bad politics that Congress is indulging in for increasing its vote banks," Bharti told reporters.

She even urged the Muslim community to condemn this particular move made by Congress to 'increase vote bank' in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

congress and BJP are actually fuelling each others growth. such actions by the so called secular congress party will validate or authenticate the `hindus are ignored` type of remarks made by the BJP. the fact of the matter is that neither of them are interested in genuine growth to all sections of the society. if they were, then the kind of incidents that happened in andaman where tribals had to dance nude and the persecution of the really weaker sections of the society would not take place

For long it has been a policy of congress. They first make you poor then give quota or subsidy to gain votes. This is not only vote bank policy but worse than that. No quota can be helpful if we don`t implement the creamy layer policy. Since ages the backward caste people were working as servants for the Upper caste people, they are still working as servants, but this time for the rich and propersous people of their own caste. Nothing has changed.

Who devide whom in the name of religiouns and castes?? People should be wise to understand this political drama and stop speaking the language of political leaders. people take every political statement for granted and get hypnotised. For ages history is evident that BJP has been the mother of vote bank politics in India. BJP understands that to woo its Hindu vote bank it has to speak against muslims. Reservations are being given to the muslim community not based on the religioun but based on their economic and educational backwardness that was reportedby various committees after a detailed study like the Sachar committeee for example. Readers that have opined differently above should understand that merely wooing muslim no one can win elections as muslim compose a very less proportion of the total electorate. BJP understands this and which is why it has made Hindus its vote bank.

If Muslims lag behind in many areas, is that the fault of the Hindus? If government policy was serious in tackling poverty, they would have decided to help ALL the poor of India, regardless of religion, caste, community etc. But then, Congress party woould not be able to play the `only we care for minorities` card anymore!

The Congress under Sonia Gandhi is the synonym of Communalism. Just for the sake of minority votes the congress & its allies are dividing the country on the communal lines. Once the minorites vote for the Congress, the very next day the party forgets them & plays its own politics. That is the reason majority of our muslim brothers are still living in poverty & are uneducated, which ultimately benifts the Congress & like minded parties. It is high time the Muslim leadership in India woke up & guide the masses in the right direction rather that misguiding. After all the Muslims are very much the heart & soul of this great nation.

Instead of introducing Quota for any caste/community the state should sponsor the poor childrens education alongwith boarding & lodging, which will indirectly bring those children to a level of competition i.e. required to get a placement anywhere.

Quota for Muslims from out of OBC is encroachment of rights of OBC So OBC people should ask the OBC MPs/MLAs to give answer why OBC quota is encroached by UPA Government.

Congress is corrupted & communal political party who always divide Indians in the name of religions and caste for cheap political gain. We all Indians should oppose congress cheap mentality to divide people in the name of religions, Reservation on the basis on religions is nothing only to make difference between 2 great religions people Hindu & Muslims. Congress please stop dividing us.

Congress has certainly behaved in a communal way by giving out special concessions on the basis of religion and caste. If they want to give Govt doles to muslims at the cost of tax payer`s money then why can`t they impose the condition that only people with two children will get that benifits?
