India, Bangladesh discuss insurgents issue

India and Bangladesh discussed issues related to northeast insurgents and destruction of their hideouts in each others` territories during a bilateral meet of the border guarding forces of both the countries.

New Delhi: India and Bangladesh on Thursday discussed issues related to northeast insurgents and destruction of their hideouts in each others` territories during a bilateral meet of the border guarding forces of both the countries here.

A visiting delegation of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) led by its Director General Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The BSF team was led by its DG DK Pathak.

Singh, during the meeting at his North Block office, expressed satisfaction over the current scenario along the Indo-Bangla border as he said the two forces are taking necessary confidence building measures and carrying out joint patrolling along the border.

The BGB delegation is on a five-day visit to India for the bi-annual `Border Co-ordination Conference`.

The BSF guards the 4,096 km long Indo-Bangla frontier.
