No decision on Balotelli as Berlusconi boosts Montolivo morale

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi placed further doubt on Mario Balotelli`s future at the club following a visit to injured Rossoneri captain Riccardo Montolivo on Monday.

Milan: Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi placed further doubt on Mario Balotelli`s future at the club following a visit to injured Rossoneri captain Riccardo Montolivo on Monday.
Balotelli is reported to be on his way out of Milan following a dismal season, for both the player and the club, in which the seven-times European champions failed to claim a place in Europe.
Milan coach Clarence Seedorf, parachuted in last January to replace sacked Massimiliano Allegri, is expected to be replaced by former Milan teammate Filippo Inzaghi as the club look to get back to winning ways following two hugely disappointing seasons. Balotelli has already been linked with a move back to England, where he previously played for Manchester City. When asked what the club would do if offered a hefty sum for Balotelli, Berlusconi said: "We`re still a long way off making any decisions. We`re looking at the possibility of bringing in new players, but let`s wait to see if there`s a new coach first." Asked by reporters when Inzaghi would be appointed, Berlusconi added: "The club`s board is meeting now and that`s where the decisions will be taken." Balotelli was on Sunday among the 23 players named in Italy`s World Cup squad for Brazil, where Cesare Prandelli`s men face England, Costa Rica and Uruguay in Group D. Montolivo was expected to make the squad until he suffered a fractured tibia during Saturday`s friendly at Fulham`s Craven Cottage. The Milan captain, who underwent surgery on Monday, is expected to be out for five months. Berlusconi added: "He`s our captain and a wonderful person. I came to give him my best wishes. "I saw the x-rays and the operation looks to have gone very well. The recovery period is three months but he will need another two before playing again."
