May be we need to poison Watson`s food now: Whatmore

Pakistan coach Dav Whatmore joked that his team will either have to poison the Australian all-rounder`s food or hope that he has a bad day in office against them.

Colombo: Intimidated by the marauding Shane Watson, Pakistan coach Dav Whatmore joked that his team will either have to poison the Australian all-rounder`s food or hope that he has a bad day in office in their crucial World Twenty20 Super Eight clash here on Tuesday.
Pakistan will take on Australia on Tuesday and the prolific Watson is the team`s biggest headache going into the must-win game as the all-rounder has been plain destructive with both bat and ball.
In fact, Watson has so far collected four man of the match trophies and is single-handedly steering Australia`s campaign in the event. "May be we need to poison his food. Jokes apart, he is a human being and we hope he would make mistakes," said Whatmore after Pakistan`s campaign went haywire following a crushing loss to India last night. But Watson himself is pretty modest about his form. "Nice to be able to continue to play well. I know how important my role is. It`s still a hell of a long way to go and I want to continue," Watson said after another match-winning show against South Africa on Sunday. Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Mohammed Hafeez blamed losing wickets at regular intervals as the primary reason for the defeat against India but also praised Virat Kohli for his brilliant innings. "We wanted to play positive cricket but lost wickets at regular intervals. We thought that we would set a target of around 160 which would have been a good total but it didn`t happen," Hafeez said. "Credit to Kohli for playing such a fantastic innings. I guess he is in the form of his life as I haven`t seen anyone play better than him." PTI
