Quoting various reports, he noted that many temples and homes of Hindus have been vandalised by Islamic activists.
Mahtab also urged all political parties to condemn violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, another BJD member Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo asked the government to take steps to provide social security to migrant labourers working in difficult conditions.
In this regard, the government should also enforce labour laws, he added.
