Narendra Modi`s swearing-in: A tea vendor from Vadodara gets invitation

Zee Media Bureau/Yamini Maggo Vadodara: As BJP leader Narendra Modi gets ready to swear-in as the 15th Prime Minister of the country on Monday, around 3,000 dignitaries from across the world are likely to attend the grandiose oath-taking ceremony on May 26 in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan. Apart from the VVIPs from India and abroad, a tea vendor will also be amongst 3000 guests invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi. "I have been invited to attend Modiji`s ceremony, I am delighted right now. I am honoured and will surely go to Delhi to see Modiji take oath," said the tea seller Kiran Mahida after receiving invitation. Mahida is one of the five proposers who proposed Modi`s candidacy when he filed his nomination from Vadodara last month as the BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha election. Four others names that proposed Modi`s name were Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad, the Rajmata of the former princely State of Vadodra, widow of Sayajirao`s great grandson, late Ranjitsinh Gaekwad, Kiran Mahida, a tea vendor, and Parendu Bhagat alias Kakubhai, an old confidant of Modi. As many as 25 people from Vadodara including the above names are on the guest list of Modi’s oath-taking ceremony. According to reports, it has been concluded that Modi`s family members will be attending the swearing-in ceremony. His brothers Somabhai , Prahladbhai as well as youngest brother Pankaj along with their respective wives and kids are going to attend the swearing-in. “ Modi`s mother Heeraben, who is in her 90s, might turn up depending on her health,” reports said.

Narendra Modi in his electioneering addressed over 400 rallies and out-numbered the Congress party handing the grand old party a massive defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. BJP won a massive mandate in the national elections, winning 282 seats on its own - a clear majority - and 335 seats along with its allies. While Congress was reduced to only 44 Lok Sabha seats.
