New Delhi: Hitting out against Narendra Modi, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Friday rebuked his prime ministerial ambitions and said that Modi was welcome to sell tea at the ongoing All India Congress Committee (AICC) meet.
Aiyar, a known critic of Modi, said the Gujarat Chief Ministe can never become the PM in 21st century. “Give my word, Modi will never be PM in the 21st century,if he wants to sell tea here (AICC meet),we can arrange for it,” Mani Shankar Aiyar was quoted as saying by a news agency.
The BJP`s prime ministerial candidate had sold tea in his younger days.
This is not the first time that the senior Congress leader has criticised Modi in public. In December last year, Aiyar had called Modi a joker and attacked him for his alleged lack of knowledge about history and economics.
“He has shown how big a joker he is with his foul language. He has no knowledge of history and economics,” Aiyar had said.
A crucial meet of the AICC began here today to finalise party`s strategy for the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
