Olympics 2012: UK cyclist Rowsell says hair loss condition drove her to Olympic success

Cyclist Joanna Rowsell has revealed that battling the hair-loss condition alopecia since childhood gave her the determination to go for gold

London: Cyclist Joanna Rowsell has revealed that battling the hair-loss condition alopecia since childhood gave her the determination to go for gold.
Jo, 23, first noticed her eyebrows were falling out when she was just ten.
By the time she was 11 all her hair had gone. She buried herself in studies to rise above the misery of losing her long auburn locks. “I was gutted. I had loved having my long hair in plaits. Then cycling came along. It was another thing to focus on. Suddenly it didn’t matter what I looked like,” the Sun quoted her as saying. ANI
