Mumbai: Nearly a month after the conclusion of trial in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case, the remains of the victim are still lying in the Sessions Court with his family refusing to claim them.

"We are not going to claim the remains of our son till the time Maria is punished," Grover's mother Neelam said, adding that they have not got justice.

The trial in the murder case concluded on July 1 and the remains were given to the sessions department.

"We have given the articles to the sessions department, which also includes the remains of Grover," a court official said.

Additional Sessions judge M W chandwani after passing the judgement stated that Grover's father Amarnath may claim the remains of Neeraj consisting of 10 pieces of rib bones, femur bone, skull and tooth.

"(The remains) may be given to the complainant, Amarnath Grover for last rites of his son, if he desires, otherwise, they be destroyed after the appeal period is over," the judge observed.

The sessions court convicted actress Maria Susairaj for destruction of evidence and her fiancé Naval officer Emile Jerome for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence. Maria was sent to three years imprisonment but later walked out of jail as she had spent three years time as an undertrial, while Jerome was sent to imprisonment for 10 years.

Actress Susairaj and Jerome were facing trial for the murder of Grover who was stabbed to death at Susairaj's Malad house on May 7, 2008. She and Jerome allegedly disposed of the body in the jungles of Manor.

Jerome had on the day of the murder flown from Kochi, where he was posted. While police arrested Susairaj in Mumbai, Crime Branch officers flew to Kochi and took Jerome in their custody the same day and he was formally arrested the next day.

completely agreed.....it is pure injustice ...think what his parents would be undergoing after seeing just a brutal murder of their son and maria walking away from court with full makeup. really feel pity now on our jurisdiction which is becoming shameful day by day..is this the constitution which new generations will follow in coming days where there is no justice remaining
