Itanagar: A NSCN(K) cadre was killed in a
factional feud with its rival NSCN(IM) group in Tirap district, Assam Rifles sources said Monday.
NSCN(K) cadre Palai Wangsa, a native of Longphong
village, was killed in a fierce gunbattle between cadres of
the rival faction of the NSCN yesterday, the sources said.
During the clash a, bomb blast was also reported to
have completely destroyed a bamboo plantation at Konsa
village, the sources said, adding security has been beefed up
in the area and combing operations are on to flush out the
underground outfits.
An intermittent gun battle for area dominance between
both factions of the Naga rebel group has been going on in the
district since December last year.
