Delhi CM for special teams to accomplish unfinished CWG work

worried Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday directed concerned agencies to set up special teams to accomplish all the unfinished work. At a high-level meeting attended by all her Cabinet colleagues and top officials of PWD, NDMC, MCD, Delhi Metro, Delhi Jal Board and discoms, Dikshit took stock of the city`s overall preparation for the event and asked all concerned agencies to make a final push to complete the remaining work. The Chief Minister instructed all concerned agencies to constitute special teams to monitor the situation and take care of last minute deficiencies, said a senior official who attended the meeting. Top officials representing various departments also briefed Dikshit about their preparations for the mega event as well as status of their unfinished projects. Dikshit appreciating the "substantial progress achieved in the last 15 days despite heavy rains", asked the agencies to put all their hard work in finishing the remaining works. She, however, said the city is absolutely ready to host the sporting event. She also asked the agencies to keep a close eye on newly developed infrastructure, greenery, street lights and streetscaping to ensure their proper maintenance. Dikshit further stated that even a minor deficiency after accomplishing all the works is bound to become an eye sore. Hence, it is extremely necessary to take care of even minor shortcomings like removal of construction wastes, she added. PTI
