BSP to go it alone in Punjab polls

The BSP today announced to go it alone in Punjab polls, ending all speculations about the party forging pre-poll alliance with People`s Party of Punjab.

Chandigarh: The BSP today announced to go it
alone in January 30 Punjab polls, putting to rest all
speculations about the party forging pre-poll alliance with
People`s Party of Punjab.

"We did not have any meeting with (PPP head) Manpreet
(Singh Badal) and neither did he meet us," BSP general
secretary Narender Kashyap said after releasing the first list
of 90 candidates.

Barring a former MP, the candidates are first-timers.
Kashyap said the party would soon announce the names for
the remaining 27 seats.
