Chandigarh: Cold wave on Monday continued to
sweep Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh with minimum temperature
at most places settling at three to six notches below normal.
In Punjab, Jalandhar at minus 0.9 deg C was the coldest
place. Patiala and Ludhiana also reeled under biting cold
recording minimum 3.8 deg C and 3.4 deg C respectively.
Intense cold also swept Amritsar, which recorded a low of
2.6 deg C.
Hisar and Karnal in Haryana registered 2.4 deg C and 3.4
deg C respectively, a MeT official said.
Rohtak registered a low of 5.4 deg C, while it was 5.2
deg C in Ambala.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two neighbouring
states, recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6 deg C.
