Jodhpur: Fourteen prisoners have escaped from the Jalore jail after cutting the ventilator grills, police said on Thursday.
The jail break came to the notice of the authorities this morning when counting of prisoners was on.
The inmates fled after cutting the ventilator grills last night, police said, adding that Megh Singh, a member of the Bishna Ram Bishnoi gang, is among those who escaped.
Bishna Ram Bishnoi is wanted in the nurse Bhanwari Devi abduction case.
The district administration has sounded an alert and a massive search operation has been launched.
