Angry locals hurl mud at Raj minister over cleanliness issue Jaipur, Mar 9 (PTI) Rajasthan Industry Minister Rajendra Pareek today faced the heat of public anger in Sikar district when a group of people hurled mud at him and damaged his stationery vehicle, protesting poor cleanliness around a cremation ground. The incident took place when Pareek, who was without his gunman, had gone to attend the funeral of four men - who were among seven people killed in a road mishap in Jaisalmer yesterday, officials said. "The minister's cloths got dirty after some people hurled mud at him in the cremation ground in Buchani colony," SP Sikar Gaurav Srivastava said. "Some people also pelted stones at the minister's private car parked outside the cremation ground. The rear glass was damaged," he said. The SP said, "Locals had grievance over dirtiness near the cremation ground and complained it to the minister. A few angry men among then hurled the dirt and also damaged the vehicle," he said. The minister was taken from the cremation ground in a police vehicle, the SP said, adding, that the accused have been identified and a case registered against them. Meanwhile, when contacted, the minister said the nuisance was created by his political rivals. "I have initiated several developmental works in Sikar and am confident that locals are happy with me. Since my opponents have no issue against me, they planned this nuisance today," Pareek said. PTI
