Humanity shamed in Jaipur, two left to die on road

A 26-year-old woman and her 8-month-old daughter were killed on Sunday when an over-speeding truck hit bike on which they were were riding pillion.

Jaipur: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old woman and her 8-month-old daughter were killed here on Sunday when an over-speeding truck hit the bike on which they were sitting pillion. The husband of the victim and their minor son escaped with injuries. The accident happened inside the Ghat ki Guni tunnel. The entry of two-wheelers is banned in this tunnel. The shocking part of the incident was that husband of the women and his four year old son kept crying for help but the vehicles passing by and bystanders did not stop for them as shown in the CCTV footage. The body of the woman and her daughter was dragged a few metres by the truck. According to the police, the women and her daughter were thrown off the bike and they died on the spot. As per reports, Kanhaiya Lal Raiger is a resident of Thikariyawas village situated on Ajmer Road. He was going to his in-laws` house in Luniyawas with his wife Guddi, son Tanish and eight-month old daughter Arushi. The truck sped away after the accident and the driver has been absconding since. However a FIR has been registered against the accused. Talking to a news channel, Kanhaiya Lal said that it took 18-20 minutes before someone came to help them. “The police also came after 18-20 minutes,” he said.
