Pakistani scribe Hamid Mir out of danger, SC judges` panel to probe attack
Pakistani doctors on Monday declared Hamid Mir, a famous journalist and televison anchor, out of danger and in a stable condition, who was shot at two days before.

Islamabad: Pakistani doctors on Monday declared Hamid Mir, a famous journalist and televison anchor, out of danger and in a stable condition, who was shot at two days before.
A spokesman for Karachi´s Aga Khan University Hospital said Mir was “conscious and stable”.
Mir, who hosts a prime-time current affairs talk show on the Geo News channel, was attacked on Saturday while travelling by car to his office from the airport in Karachi.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Mir today at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi where he is undergoing treatment.
Mir received two gunshots and was immediately taken to hospital in an unconscious state.
Geo News Islamabad bureau chief Rana Jawad said Mir spoke to him after being attacked and said that the gunmen were following him and continued to fire at the car.
While the driver of the car said that a single attacker had opened fire and had targeted the senior journalist.
Meanwhile, three Supreme Court judges were approved today for the judicial commission to probe the attack on Mir.
Pakistan`s Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani approved the names of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman, an IANS report said.
Nawaz Sharif decided had decided yesterday to constitute a three-member judicial commission to probe the attack on Mir.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon also announced that the provincial government would award Rs 50 million to those who assist the police in hunting down Mir`s assailants.
The Pakistani government has been asked to provide security to journalists since there have been similar attacks on the scribes in the country.
The police have managed to prepare sketches of the assailants with the help of three eyewitnesses.
Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain also condemned the attack and expressed regret at the incident.
Messages of condemnation are circulating on social media as well.
