Islamabad: A court Saturday ordered former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf, accused in the murder of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, to be present March 1, a media report said.
The additional sessions judge of an Islamabad court heard the Ghazi murder case. During the proceedings, Musharraf`s lawyer submitted an application to provide exemption to the former Army chief from Saturday`s hearing, Geo News reported.

A murder case was registered in September 2013 against the former military ruler for the death of Ghazi during the 2007 military siege of Lal Masjid.
The court provided the former president an exemption.

The military operation against extremists holed up in the Lal Masjid, ordered by Musharraf`s regime, resulted in a bloody eight-day siege that killed nearly 100 people, including Pakistani troops.
