`Shame that India, Pak spend money on weapons` Islamabad: Pakistan People's Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter on Sunday to express his feelings about his first visit to India, saying it was a "shame" that the two countries were spending money on weapons at a time when many people on both sides of the border were living in poverty.

Bilawal, 23, who joined his father, President Asif Ali Zardari, on a day-long private visit to India, wrote on the micro-blogging site: "It is such a shame (that two) countries (where) such large segments of our population live in desperate poverty must spend so much on weapons".

Bilawal expressed his views on nuclear weapons, saying the atomic arsenal of both countries were adequate to "destroy each other multiple times over".

He added, "Surely just once would (be one) time too many".

The two countries should instead invest in education, healthcare and business so that they could trade, "teach each other" and "heal each other", he wrote.

Earlier in the day, Bilawal announced his arrival in India by tweeting: "(As-salam-o-alaikum India, Peace be with you. I have just landed in Delhi. 1st ever visit".

He also recalled his slain mother, former premier Benazir Bhutto's quote that "there is a little bit of India in every Pakistani and a little bit of Pakistan in every Indian".

Following a meeting between President Zardari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over lunch, Bilawal tweeted that his father and he had enjoyed the lunch "with Rahul Gandhi and PM Singh. Lovely meal. Much to learn from each other".

After a visit to the famous Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer, Bilawal wrote that he had offered a "special prayer for our brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Siachen avalanche tragedy".

At least 135 people, including 124 Pakistani soldiers, were buried under snow after an avalanche hit a battalion headquarters in the Siachen sector on Saturday.

Rescue teams have found no signs of survivors so far.

Bilawal's sister Aseefa too took to Twitter to clarify that media reports about her accompanying her father to India were wrong.

Very well spoken and my deep respect to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Yes it`s about time we ended this pitiful poverty. Also the right time for us to educate our people and for the two countries to heal each other.

Dear NSK, history has evidence that more than 3/4th terror attacks have roots emanating in Pakistan. Also, India has shown openness by arresting Col. Purohit whereas Hafeez Saeed is still on the loose. This shows your country`s double standards. Indian laws are no different and has to be no different when it comes to terrorism. Pakistan looks at terrorism in 2 angles, one angle is their benefit and second angle is risk to them. Our Indian defence and intelligence establishments do not approve of such nonsense, whereas your country`s establishments have deep roots in militancy. So, the argument should be on the basis of proofs. Yes, India is a wonderful country and Pakistan is no match for India. It is India which is opening its arms everytime despite all the attacks whereas Pakistanis have never ever moved an inch from their ground! Thank you!

Mr Krishna kanth with all your respect, the height of hypocrisy also exists in your shoes too..Should I remind you Lt. Col Purohit responsible for the carnage of Samjhota Express and burning of 68 Pakistanis, alive??? Yes you are superior in planning such events against Pakistan…. People rather Indian or Pakistani.. Both side of the border want peace and friendly ties but people who have extremist mind sets whether here in Pakistan or India don’t want India Pakistan friendship to flourish coz if it happens no one can see the region with dirty eye …

Yes, Thw world should be free from any country specific Army. Just make Police System Strong and made only one Army to save the Planet not any country specific. If all country will save the defence expenditure then no human being will be without Education, Health and Entertainment. Please remove the Army & Nuclear Weapons from all over the world.

You should ask this question (weapons) to your ``jihadi and non-state actors`` (the height of hypocrisy is your country seems to coin a new term every time an attack takes place and evidence leads to Pakistan)! You seem to discover everything new when you come to India! Kindly save your burning house first! Also, dont know about Pakistanis but no Indian is/would want to be like a Pakistani! We are superior to you (no boasting, mind it)!
