Karachi: Three bullet-riddled bodies were found on Monday near the Sufi Shah Wilayat Shrine in Pakistan`s southern port city of Karachi.
"The identities of the dead persons is being looked into but it appears the bodies were dumped at the shrine this morning," police officer Imran Shaukat said.
This is the third incident in recent times when bodies have been found at shrines.
On January 7, the bodies of six persons were found at the Ayub Shah Shrine in Maymar township while last month the bodies of five persons were found from a shrine in Kalri lake in Thatta which is 120 kilometres from Karachi.
In one instance, police had found a note at the shrine signed by militants and warning others would meet same fate if they visited shrines.
In other violent incidents, unidentified men on a motorcycle threw a cracker bomb at a vehicle of the paramilitary rangers in north nazimabad injuring two of them.
In Chakargoth, a police official was shot dead while they were target killings also reported from Qasba colony, Federal b Area and Banaras colony.
