Patna: LJP president Ramvilas Paswan on Friday called for immediate disbanding of Mahadalit Commission constituted by Nitish Kumar Government in Bihar.

"The formation of the Mahadalit commission is unconstiutional and it should be disbanded immediately," Paswan told reporters after addressing a sit-in demonstration by the sweepers of Patna Municipal Corporation.

He said even the National SC Commission Chairman Buta Singh had dubbed the commission as "unconstitutional" and the state government had the Constitutional obligation to follow the SC Commission's decision.

He also alleged that the Mahadalit Commission chairman K P Ramaiah was working as a leader of a political party and demanded his removal.

Paswan said his party would continue its agitation seeking disbanding of the Mahadalit commission in Bihar.

He also urged the state government to regularise all the sweepers working on contract in the municipal corporations in Bihar and accord them the facilities at par with the grade IV employees of the state government.
