Man held for burning wife alive in Bijnor

Bijnor: A man has been arrested for
allegedly burning his wife to death at their house in Afzalgarh area here last week, police said Friday.

The incident took place in village Shivpuri on April 9
when Sunita Devi (33), a mother of two, returned from her
parents` house after eight months, Superintendent of Police
Dalveer Singh Yadav said.

Following an altercation between the two, the accused
Hridesh Kumar sprinkled kerosene on her and set her ablaze and
fled from the spot, he said.

Kumar was arrested yesterday, and further investigation
into the case was on, he said.
