SP`s Alok Tiwari elected to Rajya Sabha

SP candidate Alok Tiwari was on Monday elected unopposed in by-election for a Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow: SP candidate Alok Tiwari was on Monday elected unopposed in by-election for a Rajya Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
A formal announcement was made in this regard by returning officer and principal secretary Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Dubey.
The by-election was necessitated following death of SP MP Brij Bhushan. Alok is the son of Brij Bhushan Tiwari, who died a day after taking oath as Rajya Sabha member in April.
