Israel carries out air raids on Gaza Strip

Jerusalem: The Israeli Army launched two air raids on the Gaza Strip overnight in retaliation against a rocket attack on southern Israel, it said on Sunday.

"Two terrorist activity sites in the north and central parts of the Gaza Strip were attacked and hit," the Army said in a statement. The attacks were launched in response to a rocket fire from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israel, the statement added. A similar Israeli retaliatory strike on Gaza overnight Wednesday left a woman and four children injured, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.
