Johannesburg: Pro-Russian rebels operating about the Malaysia Airways MH17 crash site have been warned by the Ukrainian military to either surrender or face death.
According to News.com.au, that`s the view of National Security and Defence Council spokesman Colonel Andriy Lysenko as he today said he welcomed the impending arrival of Australia`s police and army task force.
Lysenko said that he was hopeful that the Australian Federal Police team could secure the site of the Boeing 777 wreckage and start with their forensic examinations without any obstruction.
He said Ukrainian forces had surrounded Donetsk, foiling any fleeing attempts by separatists, who now had no means to procure any more armament and reinforcements from across the Russian border.
Lysenko said that his anti-terrorists squad had successfully helped Ukraine seize over 10 villages and towns that were previously under the control of pro-Russian separatists.
He said the rebels in the area had limited options in the conflict to get out of the area, adding that they had two ways - to either die or surrender, the report added.
Earlier, Australian investigating team discovered further human remains and a new area of the Malaysian airlines MH17 debris, a week after the plane crashed.
Two Australian diplomats and a forensic expert along with Dutch investigators found evidences at the MH17 crash site.
Investigators found a big piece of fuselage that had not been seen before.
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) spokesman Michael Bociurkiw said that the debris had machine gun type holes and that they were alarming to see.
However, there were still concerns that the crash site had not been investigated sufficiently.
