The Newcastle Jets Friday signed Jeronimo Neumann following the Argentinian forward`s release from A-League rivals Adelaide United.
Neumann scored 17 goals in 53 appearances over two seasons with Adelaide. The 28-year-old, who previously played with River Plate, Estudiantes and Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina and Barnsley in the English Football League, said he was keen to switch to the Jets. "Coach Phil Stubbins contacted me to tell me the ideas he had for the club and I was excited to be part of it," Neumann said. Stubbins said Neumann`s arrival was a big coup for the Jets and he was looking to complement the club`s other strikers, Joel Griffiths and Ecuadorian Edson Montano.
