By midnight, his father passed away and despite the loss, Javed Khan turned up at DY Patil Stadium to play in the practice game against England in Mumbai on Saturday morning.

Javed’s coach in an interview to Indian Express said, “"By 5 am, we advised him to play the match. He was crying the whole night and was in a state of shock.
