Mumbai: 22-year-old Mumbai pacer was in a hospital all night to be with his father who was undergoing an open heart surgery.
By midnight, his father passed away and despite the loss, Javed Khan turned up at DY Patil Stadium to play in the practice game against England in Mumbai on Saturday morning. Leaving behind the grief, he dismissed two batsmen, Jonathan Trott and Jonathan Bairstow. Javed’s coach in an interview to Indian Express said, “"By 5 am, we advised him to play the match. He was crying the whole night and was in a state of shock. But this match against England was a big opportunity for him. His father was keen to see him bowl against England. So he did what his father would have wanted him to do."
