International Olympic Committee chief Jacques Rogge hailed the 2012 London Olympics as "happy and glorious" as he closed the 30th Summer Games.

London: International Olympic Committee (IOC) chief Jacques Rogge hailed the 2012 London Olympics as "happy and glorious" as he closed the 30th Summer Games.
"You have shown the world the best of British hospitality," Xinhua quoted Rogge as saying in his speech.
Rogge described the Beijing games as "truly exceptional" and the 2004 Athens Games as "unforgettable, dream games". Rogge, who presided over his last of six Olympics as IOC chief, earlier said the London Games reminded fans why they love sport in the first place. "London promised an athletes` Games, and that`s exactly what we got. I am a very grateful and happy man. We are very happy with the Games," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying. IANS
