London: Queen Elizabeth II's 94-year-old husband Prince Philip was caught on camera losing patience with a photographer during events to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The Duke of Edinburgh is well-known for his outbursts and gaffes and this time it was a photographer who was in his firing line.
Losing patience during a photocall at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Club, he was seen seemingly demand: "Just take the f****** picture!"
The moment was caught on video by TV cameras during a day of events yesterday commemorating the start of the Battle of Britain in July 1940, which earlier had featured senior members of the royal family including the Queen watching an RAF flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
He looked visibly distressed at the time it was taking, while others, including grandson Prince William, laughed at his outburst.
Prince Philip once notoriously said he was an expert in "dontopedalogy" ? the science, he explained, of opening your mouth and putting your foot in it, which he said he had practised "for many years".
Among his many gaffes over the years, peering at a fuse box in a Scottish factory, he said: "It looks as though it was put in by an Indian."
He later backtracked: "I meant to say cowboys."
The Battle of Britain - named by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill before it even began - was the first major defeat for Germany in World War II, and although the war continued for five more years, it is widely seen as one of just a handful of "turning points" for the allied forces.
