Former world number one Victoria Azarenka is set to make her return from injury at the WTA grasscourt event in Eastbourne next week.
Azarenka has struggled with a foot problem since the Australian Open and hasn`t played since making an abortive attempt at a comeback at Indian Wells in March.
She was clearly not fit in losing her first match to Lauren Davis and pulled out of the French Open as she continued her recovery.
However, Azarenka has been granted a wildcard into the Wimbledon warm-up event on England`s south coast.
"I`ve worked hard to rehabilitate my injury and to get fit for my return," Azarenka said Wednesday. "I`ve played at Eastbourne three times and always enjoyed it.
The grass courts are world-class, which will give me the best possible start to the second half of the season, and the perfect preparation for Wimbledon."
World number four Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland will be the top seed at the tournament which also includes the Czech Republic`s former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova.
