Dhaka: India won their second consecutive match of the World Twenty20 by thrashing the defending champions West Indies by seven wickets at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. MS Dhoni once again won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian bowlers didn`t disappoint him and restricted the power-packed West Indian batting line-up to mere 130 runs. Amit Mishra - who played a major role against Pakistan in the last game, once again proved his mettle as a quality spinner. Though, this time Chris Gayle welcomed Mishra with a six over long-on, when Dhoni introduced him in the seventh over. But Mishra bounced back on the next ball, and managed to get the leading edge of Gayle`s bat, but Yuvraj Singh dropped a simple catch at deep mid-wicket. Nine runs came from Mishra`s first over. However, when the spinner was reintroduced in the 13th over of the innings, he gave mere three runs. In his third over, Mishra was at the top of his bowling, as he provided India the third breakthrough in the form of Marlon Samuels. Samuels, in rush of blood, stepped out to charge the spinner and was completely beaten by the line of the ball and Dhoni didn`t miss the stumping opportunity. In the very next ball, Mishra`s googly foxed Dwayne Bravo and he was trapped in font of the wicket for a first-ball duck. Though, Mishra missed the hat-trick, in the penultimate over of the innings, he gave just two runs and finished off as the most successful bowler for India with the figures of 4-0-18-2. For his outstanding performance, he was rewarded with Man of the Match award in the second consecutive match.
