Heavy rains across Delhi on Wednesday (August 19, 2020) led to the collapse of a wall in the south Delhi district that resulted in damaging several four-wheelers parked on the road.
The incident reportedly took place near the Apeejay School in Saket and as many as eight vehicles were damaged because of the wall that collapsed due to incessant rains.
The heavy rains also caused waterlogging and disrupted traffic in several areas across Delhi.
Waterlogging has been reported from Delhi's Dhaula Kuan area towards AIIMS carriageway under Moti Bagh Flyover, MB Road near Batra Hospital (both carriageway), under Palam Flyover (both carriageway) and Chhata Rail (both carriageway).
There was a dip in temperature as rains brought the mercury down at 28-degree Celcius.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rains during the day.
As per reports, the Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded 139.2 mm rainfall against the normal of 157.1 mm in August so far, a deficiency of around 11 per cent while overall, it has recorded 457.8 mm rainfall, six per cent more than the normal of 433.2 mm since June 1.
