Mumbai Weather Forecast Update: Rain Brings Traffic Jam, Flooding, Chaos; City Braces For More Downpour

Following Saturday's heavy rainfall in Mumbai, multiple areas experienced flooding and significant traffic congestion. Today, Mumbai is preparing for further rain after the downpour from the previous evening resulted in waterlogging and extensive traffic disruptions. Andheri subway in Mumbai was closed for vehicular movements after waterlogging was triggered by heavy rainfall on Saturday. The traffic was diverted towards the Swami Vivekananda road. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a 'yellow alert' for Mumbai and predicted heavy rainfall in the next 4-5 days.

The meteorological department has issued an orange alert for today's rainfall in the city. However, they have clarified that the monsoon season has not yet officially begun in the Maximum City and is expected to arrive in approximately 48 hours. The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra and more downpour is expected in Mumbai today.
