Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik's separation, which came to light recently, has created ripples in India and Pakistan, as well as among cricket fans globally. While Shoaib Malik confirmed his third marriage to renowned Pakistani actress Sana Javed on January 20, Sania's family confirmed that she took "Khula" from Shoaib, which is a Muslim woman's right to unilaterally end her marriage.

This was another divorce that caused much heartbreak among fans. The most loved Telugu star couple released a joint statement about their separation in 2021 when they confirmed that they were parting ways as husband and wife. The couple had announced their separation five days ahead of their fourth wedding anniversary. According to an entertainment portal, Samantha was offered Rs 200 crore as alimony, which she reportedly refused. 

Hrithik and Sussanne were once considered Bollywood's IT couple who had been childhood sweethearts, but they shocked everyone by announcing their separation. The duo, who are parents to two sons - Hrehaan and Hridhaan - officially divorced in 2014. According to media reports, Sussanne had reportedly demanded Rs 400 crore as alimony during their divorce, which was later settled at Rs 380 crore. But taking to social media, Hrithik had rubbished all such reports.

‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's marriage not only ended in separation, but it was one of the most acrimonious and messy celebrity divorces that gained a lot of public attention. In 2016, Heard was awarded $7 million as a divorce settlement, which she reportedly donated to charity. But the couple was back in court in 2022 for a defamation case Depp filed against Heard for an opinion piece she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018, accusing Depp - without naming him - of domestic abuse. Heard was asked to pay Depp $15 million for damages, which was later reduced to $10.35 million by the jury. As per reports, following a series of cases and settlements, Heard finally paid Depp $ 1 million which he gave away to charity.

The divorce of this power couple came as a surprise and once again, it was an expensive one. According to Forbes, Melinda French Gates walked away with at least $6.3 billion worth of stock in various companies that were transferred to her by her ex-husband Bill Gates. 

This was definitely one EXPENSIVE divorce. Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos' and his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Bezos got divorced in 2019 and MacKenzie reportedly received $38.3 billion worth of Amazon stock, Bloomberg reported. This made MacKenzie one of the richest women in the world but she pledged to give away half of her fortune to charity.
