New Delhi: Tickets for Delhi leg of the much-awaited International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) will be up for sale post Diwali weekend.

The IPTL issued a press release on Friday which mentioned that with ticket prices ranging from INR 3,240 to INR 49,680, fans ranging from students to the country’s glitterati will be able to witness the best names from the world of tennis.

“Sports fans in India are in for a treat; having the opportunity to watch all these stars at one fixed price does not exist at any tennis event across the world” said Mahesh Bhupathi, on behalf of the IPTL.

During the 3-day event (December 6, 7 and 8, 2014), at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, sports fans will get to see two matches a day, first at 4:00 pm and second match starting at 7:30 pm. Each ticket will allow spectators to watch the 3-day action.

The indoor stadium, with its 15,000 plus seating capacity, is the largest indoor sports arena in India and the third-largest in Asia.

Notably, in what was one of the greatest moments for Indian tennis fans, 17-time Grand Slam champion Federer confirmed to play in IPTL where he replaced Rafael Nadal for the Indian Aces team. Nadal withdrew from the tournament due to injury. The Swiss legend will also lead Indian team.

Other big names who will play for the Indian Aces are Pete Sampras, Gael Monfils, Ana Ivanovic and Fabrice Santoro. Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna are the two Indian players in the squad. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and women’s World No. 1 Serena Williams will also be present, playing for UAE Falcons and Singapore Lions respectively.

Other world class players who will be a part of the league are Andy Murray, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Maria Sharapova, Eugenie Bouchard and Lleyton Hewitt. The league is scheduled to be played across four locations. Philippines will kick off proceedings, followed by Singapore, India and UAE. The India leg will be held from 6th to 8th December 2014 in Delhi.
