Jagmohan Dalmiya hails India`s Tri-series triumph

Kolkata: BCCI interim chief Jagmohan Dalmiya on Friday congratulated the Indian cricket team for winning the Tri-Nation series at Port of Spain.

"Heartiest congratulations to the Indian Cricket team for playing like true champions," Dalmiya said in a statement on Friday. "One anticipates a final to be a close affair but the team`s ability to perform under pressure deserves admiration," Dalmiya said while lauding India`s thrilling one-wicket win in the final against Sri Lanka last night. After bowling out Sri Lanka for 201, India rode on skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni`s unbeaten 45 and Rohit Sharma`s half century to chase down the target with two balls to spare at the Queen`s Park Oval. The triumph meant that World champions India, who won the Champions Trophy last month, continued their dominance in the 50-over format. PTI
