Sri Lanka have surprised everyone and made it to the Super Six stage of the 2013 ICC World Cup Tournament defeating hosts India by a massive 138-run margin. Sharma was the final Indian wicket to fall after being caught behind off Seneviratna. This is their first ever victory over India in 18th attempt. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 39.2 II Score: 136/9 (Sultana: 10*, Sharma: 0*) OUT! Ekta Bisht plays one from Siriwardene in the air towards square leg region where Atapattu takes a brilliant running catch as India lose their ninth wicket. In comes Shubhlakshmi Sharma. Sri Lanka just a step away from reaching Super Six stage and knocking India out of the World Cup. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 36.3 II Score: 129/8 (Sultana: 4*, Bisht: 0*) OUT! Oh Dear! A mix-up has cost India another wicket in Reema Malhotra who was run out after scoring 38. Sultana played one from Seneviratna towards short third man and as a result of no communication between Sultana and Malhotra, both found each other in the middle of the pitch. Malhotra tried making her ground towards the strikers’ end but the throw from Kaushalya was perfect and the keeper wasted no time in dislodging the bails. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 35 II Score: 124/7 (Malhotra: 34*, Sultana: 3*) The run rate is shooting upwards with every passing over. India need to score at the rate of 10.60 rpo now. Malhotra is still not giving up. She is still going strong. However, she doesn’t not have too much time or enough wickets at her disposal. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 32.2 II Score: 117/7 (Malhotra: 33*, Sultana: 0*) OUT! Another one bites the dust as Sharma’s short stay at the crease comes to an end. She has been bowled by Dolawatte. A flighted delivery from Dolawatte and Sharma gets beaten as the ball crashes on the leg stump. Sharma scored 1 (3b). Sri Lanka inching closer to Super Six berth. In walks Shubhlakshmi Sharma. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 32 II Score: 117/6 (Malhotra: 33*, Sharma: 1*) A good over for India! 11 runs came in this over of Ranaweera including two boundaries - both scored by Malhotra. They’ll need more of this now. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 30.6 II Score: 106/6 (Malhotra: 24*, Sharma: 0*) OUT! There goes India’s last hope in Jhulan Goswami who looks gutted after a soft dismissal. It was a flighted delivery and Goswami tamely played it straight into the hands of Ranaweera at mid-wicket. She scored 22 (32b, 4X2). ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 25 II Score: 77/5 (Malhotra: 14*, Goswami: 3*) India need another 206 runs to win this final group match at 8.24 rpo. At same stage Sri Lanka were 121/2. Their focus now should be on making 251 runs which will ensure that they qualify for the Super Six stage. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 21.3 II Score: 67/5 (Malhotra: 10*, Goswami: 0*) OUT! There goes the fifth wicket and with it the chances of winning this game getting slimmer. Bowled on the off, Jain goes for a cut, misses it and the bails are shattered. She scored 8(22b, 4X1). ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 17 II Score: 50/4 (Jain: 1*, Malhotra: 0*) OUT! That one was angled away from Kamini who went after it and ended up edging it to the keeper. She scored 22 (49b, 4X2). In walks Reema Malhotra. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 15 II Score: 46/3 (Kamini: 19*, Jain: 0*) An easy chance of a run out missed as keeper fails to collect the ball. Kamini played one from Seneviratna back to the bowler and the ball went to the fielder at mid off after hitting her shoe. The fielder threw it to the wicketkeeper who failed to catch it in time. Just one run from the over. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 12.5 II Score: 38/3 (Kamini: 10*, Jain: 0*) OUT! A massive wicket for Sri Lanka! Harmanpreet Kuar is shattered as she has been dismissed aqfter being caught Atapattu off Seneviratna. She goes out for a duck. A heavy blow to Indian team as they look to chase Sri Lankan target. Karuna Jain walks to the middle. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 11.6 II Score: 37/2 (Kamini: 10*, Kaur: 0*) OUT! Oh Dear! Mithali Raj has been dismissed. A big blow to Indian team! Prabodhanihas trapped the Indian skipper in front of the stumps to take her first wicket of the match. Raj scored 20 (31b, 4X4). In walks Harmanpreet Kaur. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 11 II Score: 32/1 (Kamini: 9*, Raj: 16*) This has been by far the biggest over in the Indian innings. Six runs came off it including a boundary scored by India captain Mithali Raj through point region. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 9 II Score: 25/1 (Kamini: 8*, Raj: 10*) A full delivery from Kaushalya and Mithali Raj is on to it driving it through extra cover region for a boundary. There was a loud appeal for lbw off the last delivery but umpire turned it down. Five runs from the over ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 8 II Score: 20/1 (Kamini: 8*, Raj: 5*) Kaushalya has been excellent for Sri Lanka! She has scored runs, bowled miserly and is a livewire in field. An excellent run in the deep by Kaushaluya saves a sure shot boundary. Just two runs came in the over bowled by Prabodhani. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 6 II Score: 17/1 (Kamini: 5*, Raj: 5*) Prabodhani bowls one in the middle and Kamini flicks it to midwicket region for her first boundary. Off the next, she adds another single to the Indian total via a leg bye. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 5 II Score: 12/1 (Kamini: 1*, Raj: 5*) Mithali Raj scores her first boundary driving Kaushalya past point. Just four runs from the over. India need another 271 runs from 45 overs at 6.02 rpo. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 2.5 II Score: 6/1 (Kamini: 1*, Raj: 0*) OUT! Not the start that India were hoping for! Kaushalya has trapped Kaur in front of the wicket right after being driven past mid-on for a boundary! Raut scored 5 (11b, 4X1). ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 2 II Score: 1/0 (Raut: 1*, Kamini: 0*) Left-arm medium Udeshika Prabodhani will share the new ball with Kaushalya. An good start from her as she bowls a maiden. All deliveries were defended but for the second that was driven through off but was stopped at cover preventing a run. ==================================================================================== INDIA Over: 1 II Score: 1/0 (Raut: 1*, Kamini: 0*) This Indian opening pair has a job at their hand. They have to give a perfect start to their team as they chase a target of 283 runs to win this do-or-die match against a spirited Sri Lanka side. India either need to score 283 to win or 251 to qualify to the Super Six stage. Right-arm medium Eshani Kaushalya has opened the bowling for Lanka. A tight over as India score just a single off it. ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 50 II Score: 282/5 (Kaushalya: 56*, Seneviratna: 3*) Eshani Kaushalya has taken Sultana to the cleaners in this final over! She has taken a full advantage of the unguarded long off region where she scored two boundaries. There was a clear stumping chance but the keeper failed to take up the ball cleanly. The result of that error was another boundary and a six off the final delivery. 17 runs came off it. What a finish to the innings. This is Sri Lanka’s highest ODI total. They have never beaten India in an ODI. With this score and performance they have made it clear that they are not here just to make numbers. ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 48.2 II Score: 256/5 (Kaushalya: 32*,Seneviratna: 0*) OUT! Goswami bowls one in the block hole and it’s too much for Weerakkody as her off stump goes for a walk. She scored 5 (5b). ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 48 II Score: 255/4 (Kaushalya: 32*, Weerakkody: 5*) Eight runs from the 48th over. This is a big wicket for India! ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 36 II Score: 160/2 (Rasangika: 71*, Siriwardene: 16*) These two have added 17 runs in the last four overs. The Lankans are trying to accelerate the innings by playing some big strokes. ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 32 II Score: 143/2 (Rasangika: 60*, Siriwardene: 10*) Since the fall of Mendis, the scoring rate has dropped a bit. The boundaries have become less frequent. In fact, in the past eight overs, they have scored just one boundary. This over from Shubhlakshmi Sharma gave them just a single. ==================================================================================== SRI LANKA Overs: 29 II Score: 135/2 (Rasangika: 55*, Siriwardene: 8*) Just the kind of over Sri Lanka needed at the moment.
