Asia Cup: Bangladesh squad – Chance for hosts to win maiden title

New Delhi: Hosts Bangladesh might not have too many ICC titles under their belt, but they have a team which can upset the best of opposition on their day.

Under Mashrafe Mortaza's captaincy, Bangladesh stunned India in a bilateral series last year and considering that the Asia Cup will be played on their home soil, Bangladesh would be a tough nut to crack for all the teams.

Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib al Hasan are all experienced cricketers and with Tamim Iqbal missing the tournament as he is on a paternal leave, Imrul Kayes has an opportunity to prove his worth.

In the bowling department, even though the hosts do not have a renowned spinner, Shakib will have to do the role for his team.

All eyes will once again be on Mustafizur Rahman, who made a dream debut to international cricket last year, and along with Taskin Ahmed, and the duo is expected to get early breakthroughs for the Bangla Tigers.
