Asia Cup Final, India vs Bangladesh: We will play fearless cricket against India, says Mashrafe Mortaza

New Delhi: Ahead of the Asia Cup T20 final against India on Sunday, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza asserted that the Tigers will play fearless cricket.

Spirited Bangladesh beat Pakistan to secure their spot in the final and are now looking upbeat to face the number one T20 team, India.

“We will go out and play fearless cricket. That's what we have been doing in the tournament,” Mortaza was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Mortaza also appealed to the sentimental crowd of Bangladesh to ease out a bit and ensured them that they will give their best shot.

“Please calm down. We will definitely do well, but try not to get so emotional It's just a game after all, added the skipper.

Mortaza will surely going to miss his best bowler in Mustafizur Rahman, who is nursing an injury at the moment.

“Mustafizur is certainly one of our trump cards but he is injured and we can't do much about it. India has in possession numerous Twenty20 stars, but that's not the case with us...,” said Mortaza, ahead of the summit clash.

The matured skipper, also said that even if they lose the final of the Asia Cup, they still have a lot of positives to take from the tournament.

“If we don't win (in the final), nothing will be lost. This tournament is an indicator that we are moving in the right direction as far as T20 cricket is concerned.”
